Hi Guys,
I really need your Help !
I'm a single guy and I live a really good life style, I'm currently working as HR specialist in a Telecom. I currently get like 1500 USD , full housing since I'm living in an independent apartment up my family house so I don't have even food expense.
What happened that I really wanted to improve my skills in Emirates and I have 4 years of experience. My general expenses goes to Lunch , GYM and I love to party in weekends.
I just got this offer and I really feel that it's bad like 8000 AED per month, transportation not mentioned, they don't want to mention the annual bonus on the offer.
I need your help guys since I really want this experience but I feel that I will lose a lot, even with negotiating how much do you think that they can give me ?
Would I live a good life with 8000 AED ( I will have to pay for a housing and I don't know any one in Abu Dhabi)?
In case I get married would get screwed ?
PLEASE HELP LOL

:top: Welcome to abu dhabi, you can negotiate, but you have to be good with your conviencing power, ask for petrol allowance and housing allowance. A studio flat will cost you at least 12k to 20k depending of the status of the villa/flat, it is usually located outside city centre, most of it you can find in khalifa city a, b and mohd bin zayed city. you love parties and dating with girls? if for food and drinks you will still be able to enjoy but gifts are not included. gym cost depends on the types and the location, ranging from 300 to 1500 aed membership per month, full tank petrol will cost you at least 70 aed to 120 aed, food is not so expensive here as you can find alot of arab foods around the corner and so are fast food chains, laundry will cost you per pc ranging from aed 3 to 25. i would suggest you find a male sharing accommodation/flat, if your  a party person you probably need your own room that would cost you ranging from 2k to 4k if flat within the city. any more questions? ive been here in the uae since 2006. hope to have some drinks with you soon.

Hi Rami.
Many thanks for your tips they were highly helpful !
Actually I negotiated them and sent a number of scenarios mentioning the general expenses that I have per my life style in my hometown and what I will have to deal in Abu Dhabi.
Till next week I will see what will happen ...since they headhunted me through linkedin hope that things will go good.

Rami's advice and explanation is good. But must carefully weigh in your options man. UAE is a nice place for expats, been here as nurse for 6yrs. Abu Dhabi is giving the highest salary offer from what i know, so your 8000 aed i think can still be negotiated. if not they shud give u free housing and all benefits like free ticket and others. Anyway, best of luck to you man....

Welcome to UAE then, in advance   ;)

UAE is not a cheap country at all. Maybe if you are only eating rice 3 times per day you will be happy. If you like to party you must understand that you will pay at least 25AED / glass of beer on a pub or 7-11 AED/beer at "special" shops.
There are also other expanses if you like to party!

For the life style of yours AED 8000 is not sufficient.

Housing AED 3000, Food AED 3000 (AED 100 x 30 days), only AED 2000 is remaining for partying and other expenses. That's not enough. You can reduce AED 1000 in housing, if you share the room with some one.

But to gain experience in UAE, you can start with the offer, and reduce your partying frequency.

Hi Rabah , Did you accept the offer , just share your experience in the end
cause i think that i got the same offer but i don't paid any accommodation in my country or food
but their i will  spend all of this .. so i think anyone could help

rami2014

i am wondering how come you guys have higher offers and yet having hard time accepting or wondering if its enough or not.. im referring to singles, not married ones. i am curious "how you live your life?" i earn 3k, i send half of it to my family, the other half for myself - and im still able to save.  :unsure  i guess if you live a simple life everything falls in its place without problem.  :unsure

so thats great just give ur recommendation with accommodation and transportation ,
cause i m outside UAE , how can i save with it ,
i m just asking is that high or low ?!

Transportation = commute .. i go by bus in the morning, and walk my way home for 1hour = 3km, It saves my pocket for another bus fare + leg exercise at the same time / or just buy a bus card worth 80,. But that depends as to where you live and where you work. Accommodation = find a room mate, shared room is from 200 to 850. But if you want privacy you can get a room for at least 1,500 (partition). Like i said, it depends how you live your life here. If you have more cash to spend then why not, as long as you have a spare once emergency hits you. you can try searching in dubizzle to give you an idea how is this and how much is that  :unsure

Like i said - i only earn 3k and only spend 1.5k for myself (commuting/shared room/cell card/food/no smoking/no drinking/no partying) and i can still save. What could be high for you could be low for others. what could be low for you could be high for others. So if you know how to spend wisely, and you can differentiate what is necessity and luxury then you'll be fine. best of luck!
