Hi, I'm from Philippines and i want to know what are the necessary visa for me to apply for studying in Malaysia? How long for a visa to be valid if i were to take up a master's degree? master's degree typically 1 year for full time, any extensions for the visa? and how much this will cost me?.

P.S can i take a part-time work if i have been issued a student visa?.

This website has all the information you require:

Work is only permitted for 20 hrs per week in a few types of jobs and only during breaks in University longer than 7 days - this is mentioned on the above link as well.

hi realistically you cannot work as so many restrictions.

And with a masters degree you won't have time. Pay is 5.50 rm per hr typically so 20 hrs is 110 rm per week or less than 500 per month. You need 3000  rm per month to live off so hardly worth it.

And Malaysian MBAs are no better than fillipino ones. So why bother with the extra hassle?

It depends upon the school for the Master's program. I'm intending to apply to a associate college of an recognized college globally in Malaysia. And this may help me to obtain a masters even if i don't go to the main branch of the school(UK), that is my purpose. The less expense is what I'm after, basically Malaysia will help me save some money  in terms of expensesand tuition fees compared to UK.  :D
