Moving to Serbia next month

Moving to Belgrade from start of April 2014 for a minimum 6 months. Will be renting an apartment and attempting to learn the local tongue, though I expect this to be quite a challenge as im not particularly proficient in language other than English.

I have a bachelor degree in civil engineering and business management (double) + diploma Sustainability and have been working in the public water authority here in Australia for 3 years now; specialising in drainage system design for new developments.

Would love to work or even volunteer in the water industry in Belgrade to help diversify my professional experience and assist with my srpski learning. Not too worried about low pay or even being unable to find employment as my passion is toward absorbing the Serbian culture and living in the same city as my girlfriend :)

Any help in finding a nice apartment/ place to live for a decent price (I know typically foreigners get taken advantage of) close to Belgrade Centar or Banovo Brdo would be very much appreciated. I would also appreciate any advice on visa requirements that I may need should I decide to work in Serbia

If you will be in Serbia in 2014, send me a message! Maybe we can meet up for rakija :)

With all these degrees, you've got to find job in "Belgrade on water" project (google it) ;)

You've got it all here: http://www.mfa.gov.rs/en/consular-affai … quirements (as Ozzy, you need no visa for up to 90 days, you can extend your stay for various reasons or get permanent stay permission...)

Good luck with finding flats - I can't help you with that.

And welcome to Serbia ;)
