Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and new to Malta. I'm making the big move early next week to continue my career in E-Gaming and am currently a combination of excited/terrified/delighted/nervous, very confusing indeed!

I've been browsing through the topics in the forum and found so much useful info so thanks for all that :)

I just have one question - are there any specific sites for expat communities who organise different events/meetups etc? Also, I'm hoping to take up a new hobby such as tennis/diving/soccer. Do any expats have experience with any sports clubs for beginners near St Julians?

Hi there,
First of all welcome to Malta and to the blog.
I am sure that your concerns will vanish and you will fall in love with the country. You will find a lot of help and support here at expatblog as well as offline when you start making new friends.
Are you interested in adventure sports activities like trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, etc? If so, drop me a line.
I would like to wish you success in your new venture.
Regards,
Charlo

Merħba  :)  There is definitely one person on here who runs a diving school on Malta and there are many others. Also if you look you'll see when this group meets and where and from there you will, I am sure, get some other info from those that attend. Latest info is that they are still meeting at Bianco's in St. Julians at 7 pm every Wednesday (unless it is cancelled by Bianco's because of private venues). Any changes will be posted on here by Ricky.

I totally agree with others comments.............and you are arriving at a very good time. Not too cold, as the winter gently subsides, and in plenty of time to settle and get yourself acquainted before the Summer. I thoroughly enjoy my Spring breaks in Malta (will be there again shortly) as you can get to do lots of things before it becomes too hot.

Good Luck

Mike
