Bible and Medication

Post new topic

gpetr67

Hello all.......I will be relocating to Jeddah towards the end on March.  I have two specific questions......

1) I have 2 prescription medications that I take.  As long as I take a letter from my doctor will I be allowed to take the medication with me?  Secondly, will I be able to take this same letter with me to a doctor in the KSA to get refills for these prescriptions?

2) I am a Christian and I would really like to take my Bible with me.  I have read several posts in here and they seems to contradict each other.  Will customs in KSA allow me to take my Bible into the country?

Thanks you in advance!

Greg

Medications shouldnt be a problem with a Doctors note.

In terms of refills if the pharmacy have them you should be able to buy direct from them even without a prescription. The laws for buying medication here seem extremely relaxed.

i would say that the bible is a no. If customs were to find it, I doubt that it would gone down very well. If you do decide to bring it anyway then it would definetly be at your own risk.

medication no problem just not in volume, if in volume bring your doctor's note, for BIBLE, sure you can bring but don't put it in bags that will be checked, a pocket size bible wont hurt so you can put it in you hand carried bag , but as told, bring it at your own risk. :) just don't bring items with cross in it or religious figures, i think you'll be good. much better have the word that says bible in it covered  just to be safe. :)

Hi
Sure
You can bring your medicine and your bible
But you must keep it in your bag
And you can buying medicine here direct from pharmacy  just bring your prescription .

Medicine is fine.  For refills, you will have to see a local doctor here on your company-provided insurance, and then with the local doctor's provided prescription, you can get regular refills for practically free.

Bible, at your own risk.  If they spot it, they will confiscate it.  You won't get in trouble, but the Bible will be gone if spotted.

Thank you all for the help!!  Hopefully we will possibly have a chance to meet in the future!

Hi! Yes, you can bring your Bible, just put it in the luggage not in the handcarry bag.  Hope you will meet sisters and brothers in Christ. God will protect you for this, just pray.

I get medicine just by going to a pharmacist- if you have the money you can buy it.

Other comments on your other question are accurate

You can come with your bible and medication , but it's important you come with your prescription.  So you can refill when you run out of stock.
The health of God rest upon your spirit and quicken your mortal body to receive healing in Jesus Name.

Hi how do practice Christianity in Saudi. Do we need to go to a western compound for sure? How about Indian Christians. It's a fix coz our country fellas are Hindus and rarely u find things matching and heard the western compounds don't let anyone else. Can anyone please help.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as its not 'glaucoma' meds ;)
No narcotics, period!

Hi, I am a Saudi local and can safely tell you that they should not be of aan issue. You might cover the bible and put it in your hhandbag as a matter of precaution. There are sometimes cutoms officers who do not understand the law very well. So , in any issue you might face, you better say that you were not aware of that issue. And that is it. Just make sure you do not bring forbidden or prohibited items. If you want to contact me feel free to do so

if you checked in with an educated religious man, yes you can come into with it.
but if you checked in by a person who mix religion with his culture you may not make it.

but if you come to saudi without your bible and then find some one to send it to you by male, it will reach to your location.

that's what i think.

If your bible does get confiscated, perhaps you can read a bible at an online site via the Internet.
