Szocske, when you have a chance to get away from dyke defense duties, please report back here on the flood event, and its impact on your island.  Your descriptions of life there are fascinating.  Hopefully, everything is under control by now, and water levels receding !

Of course, if you do have any news about how the artists on the mainland weathered the flood, the other "Szentendre area " thread is still there for your commentary.

We're fine thank you, even the ferries resumed operation now.
I'm back to scything, as much as mosquitoes allow.
I'm going to try to dress up in long sleeves early in the morning to avoid getting bitten so much and get the benefit of dew on the blades of grass.

I'm just a bit behind at work right now, while trying to find a better job at the same time :-)
Emotionally taxing.

So if all you people around the globe know people at telecommunication companies, telecommunication or computer network equipment developing companies, google, or other innovative places, let me know:
I have a CV I'd like you to slip to the top of the "in" pile at HR!

Good to hear the island idyll is now restored, all services functioning normally again!

Szocske, was that special early morning long sleeve gear you were thinking of using at all effective, in warding off the swarms of mosquitoes?  I read somewhere, they’ve been especially bad this year, with lots of breeding puddles from all the extra rain.  Still, there’s nothing better for a good scything, than a generous dollop of dew on the blades of grass early in the morning!
