We are an american family living in London. My husband just received a new offer from his firm to move to dubai.  we are serisouly considering, but I have many questions.

How do people make phone calls to America?
Can I find a 2 bedroom flat for reasonable price?
Are there gyms with child care?
What are the costs of utilities?
Do most people have to buy vehicles when they get out there?

Thanks for any help!

Phone calls by mobile or landline phones.
It depends what you mean by 'reasonable price' but in general
rents are high. Check the classified ads at www.gulfnews.com for examples.
There are buses and taxis, the train system will not open for another year, so private vehicles are the most popular transport - but the traffic and driving standards are a nightmare.
For water & electricity we pay an average of about AED120 a month in our 2 bedroom apartment.
