Car insurance broker

Hello all,

We are US citizens legally residing in France who recently bought a private car and realized cannot get car insurance as would a long time french resident. We have an immaculate 20+ years driving record with no claims and I am now scrambling to put together as much information as possible. I even contacted the DMV and insurance companies back at home trying to get info. Any help recommending insurance companies who deal with situation as ours, or better yet an insurance broker (preferable English speaking) who deals with multiple insurance companies, will be immensely appreciated.
