Wimax dealers with Echolife Router

Try in the Al Fatah tower, I was in their getting some wireless kit for work, and I am sure I saw the white router there. Also an LTT dealership round the back of The Grand hotel, just off September Street has them (can't remember exact location sorry).

Thanx Clansman, I´ll definately try that cause the dealers I´ve spoken to told me that they won´t have the Echolife for maybe the next 2 months!!!!

I´ve just checked the 2 places and it´s not available... I guess it´s an strategy for people to buy the crapy one cause they have a lot of them...

try it in alyamama 2 (name of the building)where they sell much of computer stuffs, gutzaal road. the office of cella is located near the back staircase, ground floor.

I've used both the white and the black.  The black one is fine.  I get the same signal strength as the white one at the same position. 

Wimax has been good in Janzour for the past couple weeks now on both.

I have to agree with Gabacho...I've been using the black Wimax for the last 2 1/2 weeks, no complaint so far.

FWIW, I've got both (one for the office and one for home), and the  White Huawei Echolife has two major benefits over the Black Zyxel.

1. It has a wireless AP built in
2. It's smaller and easier to carry around.

I think the signal strength is about the same, and in Janzour I get a regulat 2.05mb/s on both.

The Zyxel is a clumsy very basic piece of kit compared to the Huawei (which has better Linux based firmware), and I wouldnt buy another coffee machine (Zyxel) if I knew that eventually they will be selling the decent one again.

I even tried to source the Echolife from Asia but to no avail, thats why I ended up with a Zyxel.

But the coffee machine (Zyxel) works more or less the same if you add a decent Access Point to it.

Maybe one saving grace for the Zyxel is the ability to add an external (roofmount) antenna for better reception on weak areas. The Huawei doesn't offer this option.

BTW - The clock counts down the 10Gb on both and I didnt change the password for the router or the access acount. Its just an old wives tale

there's a WI max dealer in September street,  3thd ally to your left if you go into the street from the green square, name's Sigma.

All types of WiMax routers and modem available at LTT's only customer services centre at Fashloom.

I´ve been to Sigma... no echolife available...

I only ever use Sigma. They havent had the Echolife for 2 months now.

That's right, LTT distributor is located in Fashloom, but only opens from 8 am till 2 pm. Bring the White device with 2 antennas, it's good and most of all wireless, but you have to pay 260 L.D. instead of 160 L.D.

I called Fashloum office but they said they don't have any routers. At Janzour office (they went a long long way to hide it, but probably its peace and quite there) they said that no office have them but "come back after Ramadan". Nice...

What about USB dongle? Is it really that crappy that there's no point buing it?

WE've got a WiMax Echo , and a 3 comm for downstairs to boost.  We've had pretty good service. A couple of times it got real slow - yesterday comes to mind.  Since we're leaving, we're selling. As far as I know, husband hasnt' found a buyer. We installed it in November so it's good through October.  PM me if interested.

A quick question are you refering to a Router as in a wired router/switch/hub the box that you connect ethernet cables and pc's to. A wireless access point with a builtin ethernet router or an adsl/cable modem with wireless access point builtin.

Are you only tied in to the huawei or the zyzel cos they broadcast a wireless frequency in a range that the gov. have licensed.

they already started the show  yesterday and they going to last till 27 july ,
you can find new things for internet , like new Wi Max model and many good offers , i already got Libyana-net with 75 Dinar with very high speed and free flash memory 8 GB

so , the best thing is to take your Wi Max with you , and replace it there , or get new model with half price ,

Is this exhibition at International Tripoli Fair still on? You wrote that it would be open till 27th, but The 6th Annual Exhibition For Telecommunication and Information Technology (and this is probably what you are talking about) according to the website of Wahaexpo was closed on 24/07/2010...

I can confirm that you pay 160 for usb, 120 for a device and 40 for one month subscription. you just need a passport copy, 20 minutes and your out with working USB dongle.

about the echo life, it is comming soon less than month. but i think that they like to push the people to take and finish the black routers 1st hehe bad! after they will provide the echo again!!
