Bringing DVDs and CD's into Libya

Dear Forum,

My family and I are moving to Libya for a period, and have tied up with a relocation company to move our household goods to our new base in Tripoli - properly with ship.

We have a stack of original DVDs (mainly action, thriller or romantic movies - nothing sleezy at all) and music CDs.

Are we allowed to bring western movies and music into Libya?
Will the movies and music cds get confiscated when the goods arrive Tripoli customs?

We've packed the DVDs and CDs in a single box, so if the customs takes it, the loss can be limited to only the DVDs and CDs, but if it is for sure we are not allowed to bring DVDs and CDs to Libya, then we will not take the risk to face further problems with the rest of our household.

You can bring dvds, cds and books in. Your shipper may ask you to supply a list of titles/artists.
I had a box of books opened by customs, they took a sample (2) away for 'checking', then returned them with a nice 'ministry of book checking' stamp on the cover.
You will find plenty of dvds & music in the shops here anyway. 99% pirate.

I brought my 85 Gigs of hardcore porn in on an external HDD. It was in my bag, on top of 6 Kgs of finest back bacon.

In the other bag was a 1 kg glass bottle of cheap shaite tomato sauce.

They preferred to check out the ketchup.

Buy your DVDs here - 2LYD each. Perfect quality, just on disks with nothing written on them. Lots of blockbusters available. We brought loads of DVDs with us, but took them all out of the boxes and into one of those CD holders and put it in the hand luggage (just in case - of what??? Don't ask me?) but really we could have bought them all here - all the big name films anyway. Bring your music though. Oh yeah; don't forget to bring your High School Musical DVDs out - I haven't seen those out here, and we have looked!
