Share experience about Pleiku city..

how is it seen around vietnam .. what people think about Pleiku?

Dead town. Not much to do. Lousy museum. Hard to find a hotel that can take foreigners, so book ahead.

I liked the tennis club, where you could sit and drink a beer and enjoy a quiet time. I liked seeing Vietnamese men wearing marriage bracelets from Jarai wives. The Nguyen Lords would have approved. I liked the ginsing tea house. Food was uniformly tasteless.

How do you know, seeing how you are from Tampa?

The best things about PleiKu are the roads heading out of town. What other city has a damn great hotel sitting in the middle of the road into town? Of course it helps if you are one of two Dollar billionaires in VietNam. Anything with HAGL on it is owned by him.

Guess you've never been there during the first half of any year when you can get your protein requirements FREE by taking a deep breath and chewing on those pesky, disease carrying, mosquitoes.

And the province surcharges Foreigners 20% on hotel rooms.

I guess the new road that bridges the downtown valley makes it less dead. Slightly.
