Hi everyone ,

In france there is a new law that certify that an ID card made from 2004 (which is supposed to be valid 10 years) get the extension of 5 more years..

Does Switzerland get part of the country who recognizes this agreement ??

Thanks for replies  :one

If the French will extend your ID card for a further 5 years, then get them to give you a new one with the new date.
Switzerland is not an eu country, and it is highly unlikely they will allow you to travel there with an expired ID.
However, and I do not condone this, I have crossed over a number of Western European borders travelling on the train, and they generally just check the ticket. By plane, impossible without a valid ID, by car, you take your chance. Many smaller crossing points are no longer manned after 18:00

You may not be checked when crossing the border by train or car. You'll be in (big) trouble, however, when you need to show a proof of ID and fail to do so because you haven't any valid one.
