To make gravy you need sliced onion, choped tomatos, make them brown in vegetable oil and put lil water, your gravy is ready

You mean like Bisto gravy browning? Look a little harder, it's in most shops.

thanks for the replies but I must be looking in the wrong places because all I can see is gravy granules which is not gravy browning?

Possible to be in the wrong place. I've just done a search at Smart http://www.smart.com.mt/forms/SearchResults.aspx but honestly, it can be found in corner shops.

they have it in pavi, lasco ,etc but your best off making your own as they are not cheap

smart has it at 2.33 a box...You don't use that much, only a couple of teaspoons so it would last a few meals?

or caramelise onions , with 1 tsp vinegar and 3 tsbs sugar ... then add water and allow to boil add a tbs of cornflour to thicken

for a great christmas gravy buy a small bottle of kinnie , bring to the boil allow to reduce and a bit of cornflour ( kinnie has a real spice citrusy taste to it and it makes for a great accompaniment to poultry - you can  also use cola  but less orangy
