Hey all,

I will be moving to KL in March and stay at least for three years. I know KL a bit as well as a few people but I am really looking forward to meet new people as well.

I am 28 years old, from Germany and work for a bank.
I love to travel, do sports (especially football, wakeborading, gym, skydiving), go out, cook, eat, socialise.
If anyone is interested in going out for dinner or some drinks sometime let me know (I think of that as the easies way to get to know new people).
Also any tips regarding good areas to move, awesome travel tips, tips regarding banks accounts etc. or anything else I should be aware of moving to KL is highly appreciated.
I am looking forward to meeting you people.
Cheers
Joern

Malaysians, like most other South East Asian countries, LOVE their food. So, just as in Couchsurfing (couchsurfing.com) or Airbnb (airbnb.com), try plateculture.com which is the place to go and share food with the locals.

Here's more story about it in CNN http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/21/travel/pl … l-sharing/

It was started by an expat based in Malaysia.

It wouldn't cost much and will nice to home cook food with great conversations with locals. Besides, food really helps to break the ice.

p.s. Just so you know there will be 3 distinct food types based on the 3 main races in Malaysia. But there might sometime be fusion or western inspired dishes.
