Your profile and first post do not clearly show whether you have visited Cartagena (note spelling). 

Cartagena is just about the most convenient location for air traveler/Expats from North America seeking to relocate to South America .. because of geographical proximity. 

However, many Expats are shocked by the weather -- it's hot, to say the least!

If desired, google weatherspark Cartagena Colombia average high temperature by month.  At this Weatherspark site, aside from the monthly data, you will see the phrase "hot and oppressive year-round."  For contrast, you could google weatherspark Medellín average high temperature by month.

At the same site for Cartagena, scroll down to Humidity, which Weatherspark states is "a virtually constant 100 percent throughout" the year.

Make sure you do your due diligence before signing a contract to live at a location in CTG for multiple months or a year.  Even if you have spent some time in sultry Cartagena, living there could be a whole new ballgame.
