good vets for dog in HCMC

Post new topic

I am looking for a good Vet for my dog in HCMC. Also are there any places near city to take the dog to swim? Or pet friendly parks etc. I would appreciate any advice people have about having a dog in HCMC.
Thanks!!!

I have posted, separately, a list of veterinarians.

For your information:
Rabies is one of the biggest threats to pets in VietNam. Rabies vaccination is compulsory, but many Vietnamese pet owners do NOT vaccinate their pets.

Another danger is rat poison which is easily mistaken for pet food. Pet deaths from poison are high in VietNam. There is a chalk stick like poison sold here from China - it is deadly to any small living thing including kids. But. boy, does it work!

Pets are often stolen. Often happens when they are unaccompanied by owners in public areas, or off the leash. Keep an eye on pets running around the home and garden/street. Dog-nappers! (Even in Phu My Hung, something that keeps the old biddies talking)

In rural and jungle areas, some insects and snakes are dangerous. The Scolopendra subspinipes centipede has a dangerous, venomous bite. (Equal opportunity - pet and owner)

The Common Krait (a highly venomous snake) and various vipers are endemic in VietNam.

Campers sleeping out in bags on the ground are also attractive to these beasties!

I come online today to ask where dog parks are, too. I've lived in Saigon before, but this time I have a Beauceron x GSD with me. I stayed in a hotel in Saigon with her for a week before coming to Cambodia for a holiday. Will be back in a week. I took her with me to many restaurants and bars (although I know many owners), including Saigon Outcast where there were other offlead dogs. We'd walk through the Pham Ngu Lao park fine, but the park near Hai Ba Trung we got told off (no dogs allowed). At night when we felt it was safe, I'd run/skateboard with her offlead. (I am very aware of the dog-snatching danger, was a temporary solution to no dog park/beach etc. I am on full alert walking her anywhere - at least she is growing into a scary giant!). I need to know where I can let her offlead because otherwise she will go crazy, it's inhumane otherwise..

Edit: Looks like the ARC arrange dog walks also. Here's their Facebook page: facebook.com/pages/ARC-Vietnam-Animal-Rescue-Care/156253704415502

And apparently a new dog park is at 582/1-9 Huỳnh Tấn Phát, Tân Phú, Quận 7.
