hi,its my second post here,a serious problem about visa.
when i come equador,i have automatic 3 months free stay.what happened then?can i prolong my visit there by paying or do i have to fix it before leaving my country(greece)?the consulate of equador does not exist here.
what is the meaning of the word (12IX) for visa?sure it isnt months.

Hi Leo!
The 12-IX visa is a type of non-immigrant visa, valid for only 6 months. You can get it in your home country, or apply for it here. However, since you say there is no Ecuadorian Consulate in Greece, you would have to apply for it here. After those 6 months you will have to have another option if you plan on staying more than 9 months (3 months "free" tourist visa + 6 months 12-iX). I have applied for the 12-IX here in Ecuador, and although it is not impossible, keep in mind you will need to be patient as things here (especially paperwork) go slowly.
