Aren't we getting a little off-topic here? How about we get back to the Visa Extension topic instead of focusing on loincloths and Budman in caves?
Thank you all,

You know Shaazia, most of us expats come from over policed areas in the world. Some of us came to Asia for that actual reason, ie. to escape it. Why does this topic go off topic so much that you would need to remind us ? So what if it goes off topic? Who cares.?... we are discussing a topic and it's interesting period. No one is advertising anything so don't worry. This is an Expat.com after all!! What is it all for ?

Ha ha..very funny. I'm the same age as you .
You will certainly be "entertained" VV. Just try and build a house. You'll have more entertainment ,fun and frivolity than you ever thought possible.

Relax. Wasn't that long ago they'd close any thread for a single off topic post or an ad, often in threads that'd been engaging and lively. It was really annoying.
Thread drift is a fact of life and I don't mind when one substantive topic veers into another substantive topic. But when they drift into chitchat and banter, that's annoying.

I saw that recerence you quoted last night as well. I guess here in a few days we will begin to learn if is back to business as usual. It seems that the coffee FUND industry is a big part of the ecoomy. It would seem that it would be very difficult for those folks that work at the fund to lower their standard of living over night.
@ Frank Malt
I do understand that conversations tend to sometimes drift to other topics.
This thread is really quite interesting I believe and the team is trying to promote all useful information which might help other members as well and not only those found on a thread. Which is why we try to remind the members not to drift off-topic as these threads are great sources of information for other newer members and we often tell them to refer to threads such as this one for information.
It tends to be confusing if one has to fish for the required information amongst 50 other messages.
Thank you for understanding,
Shaazia

When you are married you can get a spouse visa, 5 years 90 day renewal

Immigration Law 47/2014/qh13, article 9 , section 7 , states that quote "when a visa expires it's re issuance shall be considered"
. It does not state that you have to leave the country to do that. ?.??
So, can we assume that extensions within the country are still on the table.?
I'm wondering what monetary inducements will be required to turn consideration into action.
waaaahhhhooooo some body finally woke up
Well, Yogi, thanks for this citation of authority. I may need it on Wednesday when my 30 day tourist visa extension is to be granted, per the agent. The original expired while the extension request was being processed. Sweating bullets!
Hi rolley,
I've met some people over here in Cambodia on my Visa trip that have had shocking treatment.
One guy paid $240 for an extension 3mth single, the agent gave him his passport back 2 weeks later, NO Visa granted, and 10 days expired. Then the agent wanted to keep the $240 to cover admin costs......total bullshit. NOW, this guy gets slugged about $300 for being overdue when leaving to do a border run. These "agents" are nothing more than muddy toed, dog eating savages pretending to be relevant in a business sense.
In four and a half months time this "government" is allowing foreigners to buy Land and houses.......can you imagine the screw ups with red tape when that happens..... A simple Visa extension has thrown them into panic stations. I wonder if we'll have to leave the country to own the fucking house. I personally wouldn't buy a watch here, let alone one of their shitty looking houses.
My recommendation: Bite the bullet, and go to church in USA, and you will meet lots of horny chicks. Just let them know you do not want to get into the "Religion" thing. Hehehehe . . .
Marrying an Asian girl requires alot of paperwork (especially Vietnam with corruption, etc), and greedy wife and relatives, not to mention the long air trip and airfare back and forth. As a foreigner, you cannot own property, unless you are married, but the restriction are many. There are many other Asian countries that are more open than the dumb Communist Vietnam.
I hope I haven't been miss led, but at 16;20 Perth time I had a web chat with Jenny at http://www.vietnam-evisa.org/visa-fee.h … vQodbKwAEQ who advertise 3 month multiple entry visas, I asked the ultimate ? can it be renewed and the answer was yes. The office there is at 184/1A Le Van Sy St Phu Nhuan Dis't HCMC, hope you all have some joy
Thank you very much, Mark. My agent here in HCMC re-assured me again this afternoon. Be well.
Layne
Quit can be extended, but the problem is the cost which has blown right out of proportion.

Be sure to let us know how it goes....and how much the price is...as many people are in the same boat....and many agents are offering three months and returning with one month.
If its over/around 300USD...it's still cheaper to go to PP.
Given the VOA at the airports for a 3mth single is about $70, and both the consulate and Embasy in Cambodia are $95, I can't see justification in charging any more than that. An extension should be cheaper since there's no real work involved.
Look what competition has done to the Phone, airlines, fast food industries etc. Prices today are less than they were years ago. More players looking for market share.
I'm trying to convince a mate here to get his VN wife to start an Agency for extensions. She'd make more than the $150 a MONTH she gets now.
If she stays upfront and consistent on a low margin , she should get all the local expat business.
I
I've said before, if you've got Honesty, Integrity, Trust and Reputation you will survive in business.
But she will have to resist this endemic bullshit of ramping up fees and explaining it off with lies, which is what they all do.
I can really see an opportunity for a smart operator to move into this Visa extension game.
Once you and her apply for the
marriage license, you can apply for your visa extension coz it will take at least 1
month to get the marriage license.

15 Feb 2015: My agent's reassurances about the 30 day extension of my original 30 day multi-entry tourist visa were accurate. I received the 30 day single entry extension in HCMC at a cost of only $60 USD. The process took 7 days.

60usd for a 30 day single entry, not cheap anymore,it used to cost 25 usd.
Rolly
So ... You did get the extension you desired and at a reasonable cost... Mark referenced three month visa extensions
I am one of those fools looking for more than a vacation. I am already talking with a lady and her two daughters.
My desire is to have good wife, healthy food and raise children. Just live.
Women in USA... are spoiled. They belittle men.
I would live on a hit with a want who loves me.
I am just fed up.
It may be true the Gov. Is corrupt but in USA is same, just different tricks.
God help US....
