Karibao City, Playas

I would appreciate information and "commentary" anyone cares to offer on this quite extensive and bold project in Playas or the developer Pronobis:

A frequent poster on this forum has already "endorsed" it:

Always fun! :D

Actually, I'm finding more and more dating back to at least 2012.

Sounds like the developer has deep pockets, a strong track record, and would imagine a ton of political connections. All good things for a project of this size. Should be interesting. Perhaps if Hector sees this thread he can join in on the discussion.

I've been to Engabao, just north of Playas... You know how most small towns have lots of dogs wandering the streets.... This town had lots of pigs wandering the streets. However, if they are talking about Puerto Engabao, not the town of Engabao, then this project has potential due to the nice long surf wave and the safe amount of elevation most of the land has above the high tide mark. Of course, the developer will have to resolve the issue with the land in this area being communal so nothing has escrituras (property titles).

Some of the aerial photos show the first building under construction and it appears to abut the beach.
