Aloha all-

I'm wondering about the possibility of finding someone here in Tunis who can do this and how much it would cost. I'm here for at least a year with work so am hoping to be able to use my iPhone but I just don't have the knowledge of how easy or difficult or the potential problems I might encounter.

Hey,
Welcome back to Tunisia! I brought my iphone from the States recently and got it unblocked with no problem. I have the 3.13 version of the iphone and had to wait a while until the shop got the code via internet to unblock it. The cost was 20 TDN. In addition they re-programmed the phone with new software, so if you have memory you want to keep I suggest you download it to a computer. Sorry, I do not live in Tunis but I am sure you will see many small shops who do this. Good luck!

Nice! Feels good that mine is unlocked already but I'll need some advice on choosing a sim card company ... I'm mostly wondering about Internet service on the phone, making long distance calls isn't very necessary due to skype and now google voice.. Any suggestions ? You guys who have my email or facebook feel free to chime in lol

GB-

I'll let you know more in a few days. I just took my phone last night to someone to do it. I go back tonight to pick it up (I couldn't wait around for a few hours to come back to pick it up). I suggest you hook up with someone local to help translate Arabic for you so you know exactly the process- unless you can speak French. Well, this is what I did anyway. I'm looking for a flat to rent right now and know I want to be in the Lafayette area so this is my plan for the weekend, yet difficult because I can't read French so well (newspapers). So far I love this place!

cheers,
Holly

Peace everyone as you know I'm here now and have a SIM thru Tunisiana with Orange mobile internet service so I'm not hard to reach. I'll give you my cell number just inbox me thru email or facebook! As far as opportunities go, I could use some leads. In La Marsa will come to Tunis no worries.
