They might as well leave because there isn't enough snow.

Sometimes I do miss the greenery, however I lived in a concrete jungle part of the UK so didn't see it much anyway.

And if it gets that bad, just take a weekend in Gozo to refuel your greenery blues!!

how about ''cabin fever'' ?

Malta is very nice but sometimes you need to take a break, the problem is that there is no place here for this break since the island is small and everything looks similar, so moving abroad for a while can help you get recharged
This is what I do from time to time

Malta is beautiful, but it is too expensive to keep normal conditions of life at home. For me it is perfect horror +15 at home in winter and humidity.
No good choice of all the stuff if you lived in a big city before.

I absolutely love Malta- I have only been here just over 2 months though. I lived near London in the UK and relish the change. I love that it's so laid back, I certainly don't think everywhere looks the same. There's the built up bustling areas of Sliema and St Julians the gorgeous ornate Valletta the traditional 'step back in time' of Mdina and then at the other end of the spectrum the sandy beaches of Mellieha and Golden bay and the quieter greener ones of Paradise and Ghajn Tuffieha. In London there is just grey and... more grey!

Life is so much more relaxed so I enjoy everyday a lot more, weather is beautiful, cost of living is so much cheaper than where I was before.

The island is certainly small but with so much to do, so many mainstream beaches, hidden little bays, waterpark, pop eye village, maltese racecourse! music concerts, mdina, valletta waterfront, st julians, gozo just 20 mins away, comino, bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, buggibba square... there is so much to do and see!

If you're one to suffer from cabin fever then not sure why you'd move to a little island to begin with. Living in such a warm part of Europe means when I do go on holiday I want to escape the EU and see the world, see more exotic locations. And it'll be hard to be too depressed about coming home when home is this charming little Mediterranean island.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the help the forum has offered myself and my husband. Circumstances are such (personal reasons) that we have moved back to Canada, but we very much enjoyed our time and the people we had the privelege of meeting.

At the same time, I will not miss the 'unwritten laws' that pop up whenever convenient for that particularly bureaucrat!

Very well said young lady, I am currently in Northamptonshire & echo your sentiments exactly. We just spent one week on Malta & found it just as you describe. We are planning join you guys in Malta in a few months & cannot wait to have the same feelings as you have, everything here is grey, grey & grey.
