Hello,

I know that without a Visa you can stay in Norway for 90 days and then you'll have to leave the country for another 90 days before you will be admitted back in. I was wondering though, if you don't spend 90 days in Norway before you leave, is the waiting period to be let back in shortened? Or, is there anything you can do to g to Norway more often than every 90 days?

Thanks

you can come back anytime as long as u dont exceed the total of 90 days within a 180-day period. The general rule is you can stay in Norway (and Schengen countries) for only a total of 90 days for a period of 180 days.

for example, u'v been to Norway for the first time Jan 1-30, and planning to come back April. u can do that and stay there for another 60 days.. however, after u leave in May, then u can only return no earlier than July (coz for the 180-day period frm January, u alrdy used up all 90 days) and spend 30 days.. since by July, ur 180-day period would start frm ur entry in April and coz u used 60 days on that entry then ur left with just 30 days...

this is how i understand how it works... but please use this calculator as your guide:
Schengen Calculator

click on the "?" icons to learn how to use the site.

so yes, u can go to Norway more often, but u may have to reduce ur duration of stays... for example, stay 30 days, then leave and come back after 30 days... do ur visit and exit at alternating 30 days, then this will make u stay in norway at almost alternate months... just keep in mind the 90-day/180-day rule...

Please note that this only applies to schengen visa C (tourist/visit visas) and also to residents of countries who dont need visa to enter Norway (US citizens being one of them). this does not apply if u have a residence permit for Norway...

hope this helps :)
