Hi, we are trying to find just where in Cuenca we can find the name and location of the local Expat Bar.
We are staying at a local Hotel and are due to check out tomorrow but as yet we have not found an apt./house to move into. The real estate agent we were relying on to find a place has let us down.
Because we dont know anyone in Cuenca I thought if we found the expat bar here ,someone might help us with some information as to where we should look to find a place .
We are 2 senior ladies, wanting to spend the next month looking at apts/houses with the view to retiring here. We are on a budget and looking for something reasonable.
Thankyou for any help anyone can give us.

Try the following

Inca Lounge  - 3 de noviembre (on the riverfront footpath) y Salono

Kookaburra Cafe  - calle Larga y Bignio Malo

California Kitchen - Sangurima y Borrero

Carolina Bookstore - Hermano Miguel y Calle Larga

Yikes, hope you've got another place to stay temporarily, ladies.  So you need I presume a furnished 2 BR for a month?  Email me privately with your budget & location preferences and I'll ask around for you ASAP.  Will help any way I can--y'all are in a jam!!

Hello Saorise, you might want to insert an ad in Cuenca's Classifieds -> Accommodation section? Hope this helps :)

I went to "La Cigale" (Honorato Vasquez 7-80 or look them up in Facebook they have a page there) for dinner/drinks and there was a wide range of international folks there...very fun environment and other patrons as well as the people that worked there were very friendly and helpful with questions I had.  Hope this helps!

Yup, these are all great places.  I hope you found a place.

You can also check out Zoe on Friday night for the "Gringo Night" meeting.  Borrero between Mariscal Sucre and Presidente Cordova

If you ever need help in the future let me know.  (moderated: no free ads please)
Best Regards,
