Totally agree, now the kilt is a totally different thing. Although that picture that musicman put up was not representative, he just did not have the legs.

I see you are feeling better!
Depends if its my dress sporran, the woman love to stroke that one, or just my normal one which is a bit boring and not that strokable
And before you gutter minded people think the worst:
Dress Sporran
and a normal sporran
which as you can see is not as strokable, unless you are into leather.

Which part of the anatomy does this Sporran cover?
...and MM2, whose legs are you referring to, the Scotsman's or mine?
From the gutter I say; the one with the hair on it looks bigger

I can sneeze and type at the same time while lying on the sofa
We modern women are great at multi-tasking
I can see the line of ladies queuing up to stroke your sporran at the next expat outing....

U caught him right Allie:P
All things being equal, Jill and I.
As you all know, I was only joking about the sporran, all in the best possible taste.
And I prefer Arabic wholegrain unleven bread and perhaps you could live on it.
But I love to have my oats first thing in the morning.

U in England now??
You got one thing wrong though. There's no driving for females inside the DQ! whoever told you that they don't know what they're talking about?!!!!! I heard it used to be the case, but that's back in the day, not nowadays.
Hello, I realise this topic is a bit old now but, I arrived in Riyadh a few days ago and will be teaching English at PNU.
Can anybody go into the DQ or does one need to get a 'special pass'? I understand there are decent gyms there for women and swimming pools too.
I am accommodated in the Ghornata area and really haven't heard about any places nearby where western women can de-robe and do sporting activities. I am concerned to avoid becoming a couch-potato and am already missing swimming!
Any advice welcome.
Thanks
Hi sangfroid,
I used to live in the DQ for a while. What comes to entering the DQ, there are guards at the entrance but you can always say that you're going to the gym or to see a friend who lives in the DQ and you'll get in.
There is a great ladies gym in the DQ called Al-Manahil. Here's their website: /index.html"]http://www.almanahil.com.sa/english/index.html[/url]
It's a good gym with beauty salon and a pool, but kinda pricey. But then again, you have to have something to do with your free time anyways. And that's the only ladies gym in the DQ, btw.
If you're a runner / a walker, I'd recommend the path that goes around the DQ. Great scenery and sense of freedom for a change
Hope this helps you!
