I herd today that local rules do not apply inside of the DQ even if your not inside your home embassy?
For example females would be able to drive inside the DQ, dress with out there hair covered, guys can wear tank tops ect ect
Just like on a western compound.
Is this true?
I just moved into the DQ, and in a funny way I feel a bit...exposed walking around in my t-shirt and capri pants. Yes, I totally CAN do it and WILL do it, so I guess it's just about the stares some guys give that are not just glances, let me tell ya.
Ok thanks for the info guys. If anyone hears of any openings in the DQ feel free to let me know.
Regards,
- Schulz

Its the radiation from the Sun, missy
So, would I be able to visit my boyfriend in the DQ and spend the weekend? I'm a little worried about that.
Yes, you would. Don't worry about it, no one would care. People do that all the time.

Walked into Darco Furnished apartments last Friday to meet some expat-blog newbies in Riyadh and a sign on the reception desk read as follows:
"Date of departure is 3:00 pm"

Oh you guys are hilarious with your harams and harems.
But still, boyfriend, girlfriend... no one's watching here. (And aren't we glad!)
