curious yellow dust

I wonder if anyone has had the same experience as we had yesterday. We were sat outside around 5pm in our village close to Samokov when we noticed the surface of our table was covered in a fine yellow powder, on looking around we noticed that this dust was every where. My husband Bob said it was probably pollen is he correct and if so does it come from trees as there was far too much for it to come from the few flowers that are around.

I have wondered about the same thing (also close to Samokov, in Beli Iskar) and after speculating, we came up with the pine trees.
A few days later, there was stormy weather with stronger wind, and I actually saw yellow clouds forming over the pineforest up the mountain (beautiful view).
So, nothing to worry, it's all natural, but just a lot of extra cleaning to do.

Hi Gwenie,
Thanks for your reply,it went on for days just after I had cleaned all the windows. We have a house down the road from you in Madjare so it was good to hear from someone in our neck of the woods.

Best wishes
Sylvia
