Hi a friend of mine is  a UK citizen and her son was born in UK and has own UK passport. She came to Egypt when he was 3 months and exempt from entry visa. Now she wants to return for visit she has enquired about a visa for her son but Egyptian authorities just laugh and say he doesn't need one. Flights have been booked and the concern is that there will be an embarrassing hold up at the departure airport if he doesn't have one. He will be 18 months old at the time of flying to UK.
So does he need a visa to leave or just one on a return visit to Egypt?

James

Well if the authorities say he doesn't require a visa, they're the ones with the definitive answer.

The son doesn't need a visa but an Egyptian passport.
With that passport he must enter and leave the country and with the British passport enter and leave the UK.
