relocating to Malta to live & work

Post new topic

J.black5

Hi my name is Joe Black, my wife Jackie & myself are looking into the possibility of relocating to Malta to live & work. We are both in mid 50's. Would appreciate any info on requirements to live permanently there, and how to go about finding work and accommodation. I am a qualified motor mechanic and MOT tester, and a qualified Driving Instructor, which I am presently self employed in. My wife has been self employed for many years as a private house keeper. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

are you both eu citizens?
if so then you can come to malta find work etc without much hassle
i advise you to check the sticky links and any direct questions you address them accordingly .

to find work and property your really going to need to be in malta so i suggest you book a short-term holiday let and then look round for area and work etc
you could also conitinue to be self employed out here if you wish

depending on the time of the year you arrive  you will find it easier and cheaper to find property

november to april are your best bet for cheap property work depends on type of work but seasonal work applications from march -june

but most employers wont contact you unless you have a maltese number /address
