Hi. I arrived in Kuwait, Jahra about a month ago. At the moment I am teaching at Kuwait Billingual School, kindergarten. I am originally from New Zealand. I would like to meet up with other expatriates women and men for friendship only. It would be great to meet other people as it can seem a little isolating living in such a remote place sometimes. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, kick boxing, running, reading and socialising. Feel free to send me an email.

ya i think
livzy hun .. a month i not enough time to know the place .. i think trying to find new friends and comunicating is a good thing for you so far
honey should agree with care for me about being at home before the night at least before 7 pm .. just for safty .. cause as you know .. you can't find much expats in jahra but families .. beside the teenagers and guys there can be very harmful
or
you can spend all your time in downtown or salmiya and hawaly or any other public places ..then going back home with taxi at anytime .. but i hope you can be careful dear
KBS.... decent school. As far as life after school hours in Jahra? No existent sorry. It might be better for you to try to make friends with your co-workers as there is no social life in that area and the native people are not friendly at all. I am an American and I worked at one of the bi-lingual schools in Jahra for 2 months and it was horrible. The native people there are often called jungle people because of their actions. The best way to deal with them at school is be very harsh with them if you be nice they will eat you alive. If you survive your year there I would recommend searching for other schools in the city. I hope Jahra doesn't leave a bad impression on you about Kuwait because it's considered another world and most Kuwaiti people have never been to that area. My mom works out there too. She drives from Mangaf to Jahra. My sister refused to return to that school after being chased down by a mob of angry parents last year. Give it a year and then try the city as there are plenty of schools looking for teachers.

my advice:
get out of jahra and get into salmiya/salwa/jabriya/hawalli
the closer you are to the CBD (central business district, high school business studies ) the better it is
there are tons of things to do here, and especially for teachers
am i missing something?
