Suing Airlines - yay or nay?

Hallo denizens!

so, anyone who reads my blog will know that as of recently, i had one of the worst flying experiences in my life with Pegasus Airlines - everything that could go wrong did go wrong, from delayed flights to lost luggage.

now, i have this really bad habit of reading - i love to read, mostly news, from the comfort of my device and everything from international news to local and tech.

i came across the following article on BBC entitled "Delayed airline passengers 'missing out on millions in compensation' (link) and it got me thinking, should we stand up for our right as passengers and not be bullied by airlines?

we are never told why a flight is delayed, sometimes it can be 30 minutes, sometimes it can be hours or even an entire day, there is no transparency in reasoning. quite often, we are given a "compensation" in the form of a slice of pizza or a hotel stay, but is that enough to absolve the airline of responsibility?

my flight was delayed by an hour, which caused me to miss my connecting flight on the same airline, the airline rebooked us on the same flight the next day; glass half full people would see this as an extra day vacation paid by the airline in a hotel, i however see it as a lost day of work productivity.

also, several airlines fill their policy with disclaimers that they are not responsible for delays; however, a similar move pulled by parking areas whereby they absolve themselves of any theft or damage to your car whilst it is parked there is complete and utter poppy cock. doesnt stand in a court of law.

so, to pursue or not to pursue? I'm putting my chips on the table and going for it.
