visa for UK for Ecuadorian citizens

Hi
Maybe this is the wrong place to ask but does anyone have any experience of applying for an Ecuadorian citizen to go to the UK for a 6-month visiting visa or a longer one?
Any advice would be great!

How about going through the EC Embassy in London or the UK Embassy in Quito....
