You're looking for an Endocrinologist, or you need a doctor that HAS diabetes themself?

Probably the only way you can get help with monitoring is to go to one of the international clinics.  I Googled "diabetikus rendelo" which is bad HU for "diabetic doctor" and came up mainly with a Dr Emőke Csupor who seems to figure heavily as an endo.  If you have expat insurance that pays out, then probably First Med will be sufficient.

I am Type 2 myself.

Yes, I know what you mean. First Med seem to be some sort of racket for extorting money from people and insurance companies.  Perhaps the overcharging is to keep people away.  Private medicine is not really organised in HU.  Even the Telki private hospital closed as no-one wanted to pay.  The usual thing is to just find the Doc with the right specialisation and phone them up directly.  We use this guy for pediatrics (Expat Medical) and he speaks English so you could just ask him for an endo's phone number.
