legalities Regarding for employers asking payment for n.o.c. or releas

Hello everyone.....my contract wel be finish this coming October 9 I to transfer for another  work with another employer...I asked my present employer for n.o.c. or release but he is askin money for the payment  of n.o.c is it legal in Oman low.. and what well I supose to do ....hoping for your comments....tnx

Hi marjdz28,

Companies do not ask for monetary compensations to give any employee an NOC. They won't in any case, unless they are closing down for good.

Perhaps individuals (who hire domestic help) may ask for compensation money. And there is nothing legal, or illegal about it.

Your sponsor would have spent some money in bringing you over. He is right in ensuring that he does not lose that money for nothing, because of your decision not to work for him anymore.
