Leaving your apartment before the 1 year lease has finished

Hi all,

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with leaving your apartment before you've finished the contract and still having all of your bond returned? I'm 7 months into a one year contract and keen to move. Told my real estate agent and of course they said I won't get any of my 2 month deposit back. I've been advised by a Vietnamese friend to stay for 2 more months and not pay my rent then leave without paying. Seriously!? Has anyone ever done this before? Would that actually work? I imagine back home that being blacklisted, police and lawyers would all be involved for trying to pull something like this but over here apparently it's done quite often with no consequences. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Cheers

It's correct, it's happen also to me but if you are in good relationship with the owner everything is easier.
Just think they have already spent your money, become difficult to get it back. Enjoy your apartment for two months more or forget that money.
Don't worry, nobody will prosecute you.
