Hi,

No, you cannot move to the UK.
Nether the less you are definitely better off wherr you are at the moment.

How did you get a refugee status coming from Gambia?

Anyway as you hold the refugee status in one eu country no other country will grant you one.

Thanks

Seeing as the EU is already executing plans to resettle refugees in Italy and Greece which have high numbers of refugees to other EU countries with lower rates of asylum seekers (like UK and Sweden), I would tend to believe your response is incorrect, if not xenophobic.

Nobody here has the right to tell basolo where he is better off, or to question the grounds of his refugee status.

Can you provide a source for your answer that definitely states he cannot move to another EU country under his granted status?

Why would I be xenophobic? I just cannot get the point of coming to the UK from Italy. That's all.
The eu states that you must remain in the first safe country that grants you a refugee status. If you believe otherwise you should drive to Calais and let the guys there know.

With the current refugees crisis there are nationalities, which require urgent refugee status in the UK. There is no war nor natural disasters in Gambia. I doubt UK will grant a refugee status to anybody coming from that Country.

Hi,

This link from the UK Government website will tell you what travel documentation is acceptable to enter the UK.

I expect that as you state you are a Gambian, who was given refugee status in Italy, that if you apply to live in the UK as a refugee and are unsuccessful, that you may be returned to the Gambia (the UK is currently very restrictive in this respect, so may not be your best choice).  So my advice would be to speak to the British Embassy/Consulate near where you live for some up to date advice.

Best of luck.

hi check with the british consulate in italy to get the best advice.

If you're already settled as a refugee, and you have EU documents, then I guess you'll need to match the same job requirements as any other European who wants to move to the UK...........?

You should contact the British embassy in Italy
