Hello,

We r thinking to move to Gozo.  We would love to open a little guesthouse/rent a room or two.   We don't have the capital yet to buy but I have read that some people have done this with rented property.  Obviously it has to be agreed in the contract but does anyone have any info/experience of this situation.
All and any advice greatly appreciated.

There are two bed and breakfasts close to where we live and both are rented from our landlord,
there seems to be a lot opened on the island now, the ones near us only started this year and
appear to be really busy.

Hello Gozomo, thank u so much for your responses.  How long have u lived in Gozo?  Yes I know there r many guesthouses now but more and more tourists also.  I have 3 children so want to do something at home so this would be perfect.  Do u work in Gozo?

We are retired and have lived  here nearly three years and love it especially the weather!

We have visited Malta but not Gozo but I think it will be a nicer place to live especially for the children.  Are their still tourists in winter time?  Obviously not as many but just wondered if would still get some guests or not.  The weather sounds great there but have read the houses can get very chilly with no central heating.  Look forward to exploring the island and meeting the locals.

There are still some tourists around mostly hikers and cyclists this time of year.
It is quite often cooler indoors than outside but we manage with just one bottled
gas heater and electric blanket but this winter so far not used either as its very
mild.
