How to Make Dental Appt in Spanish

Post new topic

Oldladyman

Hi okay so my Spanish is not the best. Have to make an appt and would like advice on how to make first call. Any key Spanish phrases I should know? I know: Yo quisiera hacer una cita con el dentista.

Also do they give pricing for a first visit over the phone? Thx!!

Google translate works well enough for simple things like that

Here's one

Tengo que hacer una cita para revisar los dientes
I need to make an appointment to check my teeth

My version

Una cita para checkar mis dientes
An appointment to check my teeth

I think "quisiera hacer cita con el dentista" works well enough, any other specific questions?

I think the difficulty with phone calls is actually understanding the responses once you recite these Google Translate phrases!!! I'm just going to wing it. Thanks!!

As you say, understanding the responses will be the difficult part when talking by phone. You could also go to the dentist office and talk with the receptionist to set up an appointment.
Once at the dentist's office you may say..
"me gustaría hacer una cita con el dentista para el día....jueves a las 10 am"
:)
