Native German, but very well in English too, living now since a couple months in Hurghada. Mom to two sons, aged 7 and 9 yrs old. Looking for other German or English FEMALES with children of same age for occasional get togethers and tea while the kids are playing.

Living in the downtown (El Dahar) Stop Shop area with kids and 'new' Egyptian husband.

Drop me a line here if there's someone out there interested in exchanging recipes, tips and trick and just 'complaining' about life ;)

Yud

Welcome to the forum azeera :)

Thanks, Yud! :)

Yud

So how is life in Hurgadha :)????

azeera

Very different from life that I lived in Germany and USA, or what I had experienced on an extended stay in Pakistan 11 yrs back. The people are generally very nice and friendly, if not to say curious. Still the misconception that all Americans or Europeans must be extremely rich is very dominant here. And sure, there's always some who like to try and take advantage of that and then are utterly shocked when they find out that we have incomes and expenses similar to their own here in our 'own' countries. But other than the conversion rate issue...it is very nice, and right now the weather is pleasant too. Just hard to imagine that they call this winter. For us, it still feels like summer ;)

Emeiy

hi azeera, how you doin, sharm is the best, :)

welcome

azeera

Ema...doing ok, thank you for asking. I have never been in Sharm, so I can't compare. My previous post was sharing my experience about Hurghada with Yud :P

So how are you doing??? How's Cairo?

Yud

Hello Azeera,

Glad that you wrote back ;).. So, do you have hobbies? what do you usually do in your free time!

Regards :)

azeera

Hey there Yud,

Sure I should assume that I should respond to posts on my thread ;)

Hobbies? Oh yes, used to have them...that was before I came to Egypt and everything turned upside down :P

I like to do needle works sometimes, like cross stitch or crochet. Also like to get all lazy and read a nice book for easy reading, like novellas, preferably set in victorian times or just whatever seems to be interesting and easy to read. I don't mean I am afraid of thick books, just with two kids running in and out the whole time it's not that easy to find the time to keep on track with it. Sometimes I finish a 300 page book in two days, sometimes it takes two months. Just depends on the material and time available.

And of course spending time with my boys...I am trying to homeschool them right now. So there's a ton of new things to do and discover even for me again.

So what about you? What are you 'wasting' your free time with???

Man_4ever

Hi there .. How is live in Egypt ?

Julien

Man_4ever > don't you think your question is pretty evasive and kind of off topic ?

azeera

Hello Julien...nice to see you also reading my post.

Without wanting to show disrespect, but I believe a little while ago your team member Yud did ask me the exact same question! And I didn't mind answering it. Unless there was another post which is no longer available due to violation of terms...I don't see what was off topic or offensive?

Would love to hear what happened on my thread in the meantime!

Anja

Julien

no worries, I read quite a lot of off topic posts today and was a bit stressed (sorry). I don't like to see people hijacking threads

if you want to find your thread, go in your profile > view all messages ;)

Thanks Julien, and sorry for my very late response. I thought I replied to it earlier, but obviously I didn't! Sorry again!
