I am Project Management professional and certified by project management Institute USA ,Can I change my profession on my iqama as a project manager. Is it acceptable as a Iqama profession by Ministry of Interior/Istaqdam. Any reference Please.

No, it's not.
PMP certification is from a private organization (PMI). While for profession change, you must have a chartered university degree.

On a side note, being expats professions having 'Mudeer' (Manager) in their names must be avoided.

Hi

i am a MBA Marketing holder with 18 years of marketing Management experience

can i change my profession to Project Mangement Speclist

I doubt it is, as it isnt a degree. Also- PM professions on iqama, per my knowledge, are reserved for Saudis, or atleast being Saudized rapidly.

What exactly the specific duties and responsibilities you are going to perform or currently doing in your company.

  1. If ever you function as Electrical Engineer performing engineering & design, operation & maintenance for power generations, substations, transmission and distribution lines, then your visa iqama profession must be Electrical Engineer.
  2. In case you have proven track record as part of a Project Management Team managing cycle of projects from conceptual/detail design, execution/construction, up to turnover of projects to stakeholders. Your visa iqama profession must be Project Management Specialist. Provided you might ask to submit other requirements such as PMP/RMP certificates.

As per article 38 of Saudi Labor Law, stipulates that a foreign expat worker is prohibited from engaging in a profession other than the one specified in his visa iqama work permit.

Actually i don't have any profession right now on my iqama as i am on dependent iqama. now i am taking sponsor and they will select my iqama profession. they selected electrical engineer and i decline the offer from qiwa as i cannot have it as it requires 5 years of experience and i have only 2 years of experience.

my duties and responsibilities are exactly the same as project management specialist. i am working as a project engineer for solar system projects. so i cannot have project engineer as a profession can i have project management specialist as my profession. thats my question exactly.

Also is it safe to have this according to saudization?

Project Management Specialist requires SCE registration under the category of "Allied Engineering Specialists".

It is a membership of professional accreditation for whoever has a bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) in one of the physical sciences supporting engineering sciences under a regular academic study program from a recognized college or university.

Since you only have 2 years experience, your credentials may not qualify as member for SCE Allied Engineering Specialists.
