Hi,

Environmental protection is a challenging issue for all the countries around the world. Would you say this issue is deemed of significance in Kuwait?

Is the country going green through initiatives like waste management and selective sorting programs, renewable energies, public transport, green awareness campaigns and so forth?

How do you personally commit to improve the environment in your daily life?

We would greatly appreciate if you could tell us more about the various local initiatives for sustainable development in Kuwait.

Many thanks in advance!

A lot of education is required.  Due the virtual absence of natural flora and fauna in Kuwait, people are generally ignorant to conform to or initiate new environmental behaviors.

Some research and feedback on which animals / plants occur naturally in Kuwait could help to grow an environmental concern.

If millions could be spent on dealing with oil pollution in Kuwait, why not allocate some of such funds to actually protecting plants and animals potentially in danger?

I'm honestly glad that Kuwait is at least somewhat aware and taking steps, and I think it's pretty important that they raise even more awareness everywhere, not just in the malls where there are small signs here and there about littering and the environmental effect of smoking. Still, every baby step counts and the things done for the environment are always appreciated by the planet and people like me.
Personally, I went vegan for several reasons - one of them being the environment; as animal agriculture is the world's leading driver to climate change etc. etc., and I'm always careful with the littering and all that, I'm not a smoker and I take public transportation when the opportunity surfaces.
Thing though is that, as a resident in Hawally, I barely hear anything environment-protection related going on and it's quite sad. It could be my fault though for not, I don't know, reading the newspaper everyday? But I still wish Kuwait would pay more attention to the topic, it's an extremely important one, especially with climate change getting more real everyday.
However, again, every step counts, ans I hope I get to hear more about environment protection in the near future (kinda passionate about it.)
