Gas cylinders / cabinet heater / fuel efficiency

Hi.

I've just spent a month in Bugibba.  Heating was provided by a 12kg gas cylinder cabinet heater - looked modern.  I bought gas directly from Liquigas.  One cylinder would last about four days, lighting a single pane on the heater.

I've just moved to Mellieha.  I've bought a cylinder from a local distributor, who I think is an authorized Liquigas distributor (they're on the Liquigas web-site).  I've a different cabinet heater here, older.  One cylinder just now ran out after about 1.5 days.

Either the cylinder was not as full (but it felt as heavy as it should), or the heater is burning a lot more gas.

I've not used gas cylinders or these heaters before coming to Malta.

Any words of wisdom in this matter?

It is likely the efficiency/output of the heater. If the heater has a higher thermal output then it will likely use more fuel. Or if the property is not as well insulated as previously, again you will use more fuel.

The weight of the cylinder can easily be checked.
