British born husband with non eu wife

My husband was born in Uk and left Uk 22 years ago to come and live in Guensey. The Channel Islands.

Can we live and work in Malta? Guernsey is not part of Eu but my husband ( we have been married 15 years) is from Uk so I believe as I am married to him he can work and live in Malta and therefore I can too.?
