Insurance coverage in Kuwait

Post new topic

Kenjee

Hello everyone,

Moving abroad requires adequate insurance coverage.

What type of insurance expatriates need the most in Kuwait: health, house or liability insurance? All of them? Do they come as a package?

Are there other insurance options to consider like critical illness, damage or property insurance?

Is it better to purchase insurance from an expat insurance specialist or from a local insurance provider?

And what about insurance costs?

Tell us about your experience in Kuwait.

Thanks!

I have never benefited from insurance except for the public health insurance available in Kuwait. I believe it's a waste of money.

- Health insurance is mandatory. Public costs 40 KD for dependents less than 18 years of age and 50 otherwise. An employees health insurance is provided by their employers. Private costs around 200 KD. Some employers provide private health insurance.
- Car insurance is mandatory. Costs from 20 KD (third party) up to 200+ for comprehensive.

I don't know much about other kinds of insurance.
