Hello everyone,

Adjusting to new climatic conditions is key in any expatriation process. Moving to Fiji is no exception.

What are the climate characteristics of Fiji?

How does the local weather impact your daily life, mood or health?

What are the pros and cons of the climate in Fiji?

Share you advice and help people adapt quickly to their new weather environment.

Thanks in advance,

Priscilla

Hello Priscilla,

Over the past 2 years we have noticed that the weather in June July and August is much cooler;
requiring a blanket at night.  During the rainy/cyclone season we can have 3-4 days of gray
and heavy rain at a time.   Mostly though, the weather is nice - 79-84 degrees Fahrenheit.
The humidity is quite high and does take a bit of getting used to and 2-3 showers a day
if doing anything physical.  We have lived on Taveuni for 4 1/2 yrs and have had a house here
since 2009.  We do like Fiji, even with the challenges that come from living in a third world
country on a fairly remote island.  We do have airplanes  and ferrys to the main island.
I hope this is helpful
