Trying to get internet at home in Balșa

Hello!
We finally got our residency papers done so now we are trying to get internet at our house.
There is no reception at our village at all, we even live 2 km up on a Hill with a muddy road. The village is called Balșa and is in Hunedoara region, almost in Alba.
We went to almost all the telecom offices in Orastie (orange, vodafone, t-mobile) and they're all telling us it is impossible to have it.
We know there must be a way. We also think cable internet is impossible (or it is but it will be very costly since it's more than 2 km away from the closest cable), but with a dish for satellite it must be possible.
Does anyone of you here have experiences, contacts or advice for us?
Thanks in Advance,

Iris and David

According to Orange's coverage map, there should be some coverage there, but if you've tried already and get no reception/signal at all, that's that.  Otherwise you might try just getting a prepaid data sim with 5 EUR credit and giving it a try.  If it works, it works and you can then either continue prepaid or make an abonament.  A lot of the times the people working in the Orange/Vodafone/etc offices have no idea and just tell you that whatever you ask is not possible as a default answer.  However there is the chance that hey are right and you'll have no luck.

If Telekom doesn't have ADSL service out there, don't expect them to run a line for you unless all your neighbors also want it.  Even then it would take a long time for anything to happen.  Getting a satellite Ku or C band data plan is indeed extremely costly and typically very slow compared to a cellular or wired connection.

Been through this, still going through this. The short end is that it never truly works as it should.

You will need a repeater to enhance any so called signal there might be bouncing around out there, plus a hotspot modem, your phone could double as this perhaps, wifi connection from your device be that a laptop/computer etc.

I've called Cosmote more than I care to mention, each time they say they fixed something 30 days later which is the practice here. They were very rude to me when I last called, I won't bother again.

I've had 2 Experts trying to figure things out, I'm not so dumb myself either, we all failed however, you will only get what is sent out, you cannot measure something that isn't there sadly.

Even if signal is flying around at times, it will slow according to how many users are in your area. For instance, it gets much quicker in winter for the die hards who suffer the cold, when the cold fingered people head back to the city lol!

Recently the papers said that all companies selling Internet where fined for not delivering what they should. That fine is there was one, should have been far higher. When there is no signal, there isn't any phone for emergencies either.

This isn't very helpful, but you most certainly are not alone.

Good luck
