Taking my stuff from UK to Malta!

Post new topic

Joanamfmarques

Hi people!
I would like to know if you know of any companies that take stuff from the UK to Malta? I mean we will be permanently moving to Malta (not coming back to the UK or leaving anything behind as we have no family here) so we literally have to sell loads, get rid of loads and take the rest of the load with us. We also have a dog. Does anyone know the what is the best option?
Thanks in advance!
Joana

I'd recommend you search the forum, as this is a common question and it's been addressed already many times, even recently.

Thank you for your reply! I did find a few topics about this (though only after posting this) but nothing about taking dogs to Malta so that's why I posted it anyway.
Thank you ☺️

Gatt shipping here in Malta gave me the best price for shipping and gave an excellent service. Sorry, but I have no experience with transporting animals.

Thank you for your feedback! I'll have a look at them ☺️

Good luck with your move, the subject of bringing a dog here has also been covered many times so
must be on here somewhere.

Thank you Gozo! I'll research a bit more  :)

I just entered 'dogs to Malta' in the search box at the top of Forum topic page and got 200 posts about bringing dogs over here, the same will probably apply to 'shipping to Malta'.

You can bring your dogs over if you have a pet passport and fill out the correct paperwork. Basically your only option is Air Malta I think, last time I checked it wasn't that expensive, but you only get one suitcase which isn't good.

The other option is driving down and taking the ferry, I have made a post as this is a possibility for me in December. Seems like the cost is around 1000 euros with tolls, ferries, and petrol. Obviously you need a car, I think renting one and handing it in in Malta is very expensive.

Just sent 6 pallets sized 100x120x120cm and weighing approx 350kg each, 1 pallet of 120x100x150 at 500kg and 1pallet at 120x100x220cm at 350kg and a box of 250x150x50cm. And 2x two seated couch. With Shiplowcost. It cost a little under 1600 Euro. You take it or have it delivered to their depot in Purfleet Essex, it goes on their lorry on a Thursday and is in Malta by the following Wednesday.  For my cat I contacted Air Malta Cargo and they gave me the number of the animal transport agents they use. Sorry forgot the name of the company. They then tell you what you need to do, book your animal on the flight and sort out paperwork and cage. You then hand you animal over to them and pick it up from Air Malts Cargo Depot.

Thompsons Airways also do cats, 200ish for the ticket, cat must go in cargo hold (perfectly safe)
