Hello everyone,

Being an expat in Slovenia can turn out to be a wonderful human, social or professional adventure... with potential moments of nostalgia and homesickness along the way.

What are your personal tips to prevent homesickness?

How do you deal with such feelings?

Are there shops or stores offering products from your home country in Slovenia? Or maybe venues with music and ambiance from your homeland?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Hi!

I am fortunate not to have any homesickness. Probably because Slovenia is not so far away from Germany and the culture is not that different.

To all who have to deal with homesickness I would recommend to get in kontakt with other people of your country. The chance that you are the only one is extremely rare.

Maybe invite people to your home and start a dinner club where you cook meals that origin from your home country.

Or kontakt me and we go for a coffee in town ;)

Greets,
Brenda
