In which countries are citizens of the USA over the age of 66 allowed to move to permanently?  Are there countries that will not accept retirees from the USA?

Is it possible to retire somewhere is probably the first question, is it desirable is another? A better approach to your question might be to look at ratings of countries for retirement. Here is a link to a site about retirement abroad and they have a list of the top 23 destinations worldwide rated on factors like: cost of living, accommodation, visa and residency issues, health care, climate etc.

Retired to the Dominican Republic 10.5 years ago.  No problems on getting residency.  However the place is not for everyone (some 3rd world aspects to it).
