Hello everyone,

Finding affordable housing in Jakarta is number one priority for newcomers. Tell us more about the estate market in your district/city/region.

What are the most desired places to live? What are the most affordable ones? What is the average cost of a rented flat? And what is the average sale price for an appartment or a house? Could you tell us more about local real estate policies/procedures? What about property tax or residency tax in Jakarta?

What about you? Where do you live now? Is it a place you would recommend?

Thank you in advance for your clarifications.

Hi

I find Rentals quite cheap in Jakarta, Specially in North Jakarta,I am assuming here in expat forum we are talking abt rental properties since Expats wont be able to own any property in their name. North Jakarta has nothing much to do but since my work place is in North and my company chose a Apartment near by my work place I have no issues, near by places to go around is MOI and Klapa gading Mall. North is not very exciting place to live specially if you cant speak Bahasa.

That's my two cents.

Best Regards
