Salary Expectation in Bahrain

Post new topic

JessyJaye

Hello everyone,

I just want to gather some feedbacks from expats in Bahrain. I recently received an offer for admin/receptionist position in a corporate company in Gudaibiya, Bahrain. I was offered a salary of 600 USD/month with free accomodation and transportation.

I previously worked in Doha, Qatar for 3 years in a 5* Hotel. And with the salary converted to philippine pesos the offer in Bahrain is more appealing to me. However, I'm not sure yet if the offer includes Wifi and meals. Do you guys think the salary is good enough to send good money home? And if I would have to decide to live out in a flat in the future with my husband will the cost of living be a burden to us both?

I would really appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Hi

USD 600 when converted to local currency is close to 118BHD, which is very less in Bahrain i believe. Kindly go through the below links which should give you an idea about the cost of living in Bahrain

Thank you for your feedback. I'm actually surprised that yeah it really is expensive compare to Doha i guess. However accomodation and transportation is included in my benefits. But i guess 118 bhd is still really low, though when converted in philippines pesos is big.

Do you have any idea how much salary receptionist normally gets in bahrain? That also includes accomodation & transpo. Thank you.

Hi,

Not many companies follow industry standard here, so i would really not know about it. Negotiate for a higher salary with your employer if possible.

Just a correction, 600 USD is approx 220 BDH not 118 BHD.

JessyJaye the salary (600 USD) you mention is the average salary for a receptionist in many hotels/companies. The cost of life in Bahrain is certainly lower than that in Doha and if your package includes accommodation, transportation and meals then it does look like the 'standard' package.

If that money is enough or nor it will depend by you lifestyle and in my opinion is not enough to support a second adult and rent a house/room outside .

Best of luck

Sorry about the error not sure how that happened  :(  You could calculate accordingly.

I get it now, XE.com which is a universal currency calculator is showing wrong USD to BHD values some issue on their end. Should not have done a online calculation, 1BHD is approximate 2.65USD.  Apologies again.

actually, even though it won't affect you, comparable accommodation in Doha is much more expensive than in Bahrain according to friends of mine who have lived there for many years.

Agree, lived there for 2 years and comparable accommodation costs were roughly twice Bahrain's  :o
